The University of Rouen Normandy is a major player in the economic development of Normandy. It contributes to the dynamism and attractiveness of the region, thanks in particular to the links it has forged with its many partners in the socio-economic and institutional spheres. With its 2,600 staff and nearly 35,000 students, URN also makes a major contribution to the region’s economic dynamism. Its strategic vision of regional development, its innovative projects and its ability to attract students and staff make it a recognized player in Normandy.
An essential partner
The University of Rouen Normandie places the challenge of attractiveness at the heart of its strategy. Integration into the local community is a key factor in this. In addition to its higher education partners in Normandy, the university is committed to building strong relationships with local economic and institutional players.
Through its partnerships, URN affirms its commitment to higher education and research. These relationships enable us to respond to the demands and needs of the region by offering innovative, tailored training programs, and by integrating our students into the professional world through continuing education and work-study programs.
The Université de Rouen Normandie, through the work of its nearly 40 research laboratories, is a leader in scientific excellence at both national and international level. Backed by three thematic clusters, research at URN is the driving force behind scientific cooperation. The establishment promotes cross-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, networks and partnerships. As a creator of knowledge, research is closely associated with teaching and contributes to the reputation of the University of Rouen Normandy.
Theme campuses
In 2017, the University and its partners joined forces to create the Campus Sciences et Ingénierie Rouen Normandie. Located in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, a commune with a booming economy and a business park with over 750 companies, the Campus Sciences et Ingénierie Rouen Normandie fosters cooperation and project support.
With this in mind, since November 2019, the University and its partners, the CHU de Rouen Normandie and the Centre Henri Becquerel, have joined forces as part of the Campus Santé Rouen Normandie, to develop synergies in teaching, research, economic transfer and care for the population, while promoting emulation in a pleasant living environment.
In addition, our partnership with the Rouen Normandy University Hospital and our involvement in the Charles Nicolle Foundation enable hospitals in Normandy to benefit from innovative equipment for healthcare research.
